Maia Scott

Maia Scott is a body worker, accessible theater and art instructor at City College, certified labyrinth facilitator and interdisciplinary artist; all of which keep her happily in motion and thinking creatively on her feet. She earned an AA in dance, a BA and certificate in Therapeutic Recreation from Long Beach State and an MFA in Creative Inquiry, Interdisciplinary Arts from California Institute of Integral Studies. She has facilitated a curious assortment of movement-based sessions at a variety of conferences including "Downward Dog and other Healthful Things We Can Learn From Our Dogs", labyrinth uses in therapeutic settings creative playshops and a keynote on "The Art of Seeing Differently". Scott is currently collaborating on a tactile finger labyrinth publication and looks forward to sharing the process at a Labyrinth Society Gathering in Late October in Washington. Maia Scott believes creativity is a skill set that needs to be taught along side math and reading: Creativity reaches far past making pretty things, it's about living with an open heart and mind which enables one to experience greater flow and Yes on the path of life.
