Kelechi Marie Ubozoh is a singer, writer, and mental health advocate. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Kelechi holds a BA in journalism from Purchase College, and was the first undergraduate ever published in The New York Times. She wrote for The New York Amsterdam News, Westchester Magazine, Kitu Kizuri, The Sound and Town, and was featured inThe Quill.
Kelechi combines her love of story telling and song in her poetry and reads at various Bay Area readings, like Oakland's Beast Crawl. She is board member of the Liminal Center, a feminist and womanist space in Oakland. This year she will be featured in The S Word, a documentary following the lives of suicide attempt survivors. She lives in Oakland where she moonlights as a karaoke singer, named Vegas Cherry.
