Cristina Garcia

Cristina Garcia's first novel was Dreaming In Cuban. In that book, she tackled themes of family, politics, and memory that resonated with me. She went on to write The Augero Sisters, Monkey Hunting, A Handbook to Luck, and The Lady Matador’s Hotel. Her work has been nominated for a National Book Award, and she has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Whiting Writers’ Award, a Hodder Fellowship at Princeton University, and an NEA grant.
