I am in Berkeley, California, where I write novels and hold down a day job at UC Berkeley. I live with my partner, Joe Magruder, and near my two young adult sons, Alan (25) and Max (21). I've been a Quaker for a long time and currently serve as the co-clerk to the Ben Lomond Quaker Center board.
