Diane Ehrensaft, PhD is an associate professor of Pediatrics at the University of California San Francisco and a developmental and clinical psychologist with a private practice in Oakland, California. She is Director of Mental Health of the Child and Adolescent Gender Center and attending psychologist at the CAGC Gender Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco and Oakland. She specializes in research, clinical work, and consultation related to gender diverse children and assisted reproductive technology. She is presently a co-investigator in an NIH 4-site research grant investigating the medical and mental health effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in youth. She is author of The Gender Creative Child; Gender Born, Gender Made; The Gender Affirmative Model: A New Approach to Supporting Gender Diverse and Transgender Children (co-edited with Colt Keo-Meier) and a number of others. She also has the honor of being a board member of Gender Spectrum.
